I recently received a complementary DVD of the documentary "Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead". I had never heard of Joe Cross's story before and found this movie very inspiring. Not only do you get to view Joe's personal journey to health and well being, but you also meet a few others along the way who give the juicing method a try. It makes sense that eating (or drinking) healthy and fresh foods can have a positive effect on your body and your mind.
For HLNB readers, we have been drinking green smoothies in our 30 day challenges. For the most part I started adding them to my family's diet because my husband doesn't like to eat "greens". If I cook any green foods and add them to our meals, he won't touch them. Once I started adding them to our green smoothies, he started getting the benefit of those wonderful leafy greens.
We have all heard the phrase "You are what you eat" but most of us don't really think about what that means. We take it for granted that as long as we eat to stop hunger, we will be fine. But long term that may not necessarily be the case if we are making unhealthy choices. Joe Cross used to work on Wall Street and made a good living. Along with that he developed some convenient and poor eating habits. When you start watching the film, you see Joe not only worrying about his weight but more importantly his health. At such a young age he was taking strong medications and his future health outlook wasn't so bright. That is how he began his journey. Along the way we also meet a few others who are just as worried about their health. A woman who suffered from migraines and a man who was also on the same track Joe was before he began juicing. If you are looking for ways to make more healthy food choices, or just looking to start living a more balanced life with exercise and healthy foods, this movie will be very inspirational for you. You too can watch this documentary for free at Reboot Your Life (jointhereboot.com). Make it a family night and set some time aside to watch this one together. It is interesting and might help inspire your whole family to begin a healthy living lifestyle.
It's never too late or too early to start living a more balanced life! If you are already joining my 30 day challenges, this movie might inspire us to step it up a notch. Working on a routine with others, can help you stay motivated and moving toward your goals. I would encourage anyone who is doing HLNB 30 day challenges (or thinking about joining us on them) to watch this movie. This is really what it's all about. The message is a good one for us all. Here's to our Healthy Living Natural Beauty lifestyles!
