Fashion Friday - Spring 2013 Wedding Dress Trends

Wedding fashions for spring 2013 are featured in Brides.com this month and I wanted to show a few of them today for Fashion Friday.  I like the newest trends and I've picked my favorites from their selections.  The trends they showed were featuring color in wedding gowns, portrait back gowns, peplum styles, lace nouveau and transforming gowns.  If you are planning a spring wedding next year, check these out and maybe you can model your own wedding dress after one of these gorgeous designer gowns!

This is a red gown designed by Romona Keveza. I like the red roses with this gown.  It might also be good with an offset bouquet color like white or pink roses.

Here is another red gown designed by Vera Wang.

If you prefer a more traditional look but still want color, this gown by Oscar de la Renta adds a nice hint of blue on the train. I also like this simple, coordinated bouquet.

If you want color and a beautiful portrait back gown this black dress by Isaac Mizrahi could be your inspiration. Remember Sarah Jessica Parker's black wedding gown pictures?  Black could be a beautiful and flattering color for your special day too.

Here is a very pretty portrait back wedding gown by Reem Acra.  It almost looks like a snowflake look.

Another trend is having a gown with waist defining peplum styles such as this one designed by Angel Sanchez.

Here is another peplum style gown by Alfred Angelo.

This cute lace wedding gown is designed by Monique Lhuillier.  I love the shoes with this one as well.  Very sweet.

Here is a beautiful Marchesa lace gown.  Perfect for a spring wedding!

This is one of the transforming dresses that has a removable lace top.  It is made so you can have a dress with a special look during the ceremony, but still keep on the same dress for the party after the wedding.

Oscar de la Renta made this transformable gown with a lace cover that can be taken off after the ceremony.  This is not a traditional wedding gown by any means! I'm certain it would take a special kind of confidence to pull this one off on your wedding day.

Hope you enjoyed this look at Spring 2013 Wedding Dress Trends.  For my wedding almost a decade ago I had a much more traditional gown.  But it's still fun to look at how wedding styles change through the years.  Looking at them will always remind you of your own special day, whether it has already passed or is in the planning stages or has yet to happen.  There is something exciting and special about wedding gowns.   Happy Fashion Friday!

Are you tired, run-down, listless?  Do you poop-out at parties?  The question asked on the popular I Love Lucy show is one that still applies today.  People more than ever lack the energy to just make it through the day.  Obesity is widespread (pardon the pun).  Our daily environment is full of toxins that are put into or absorbed by the body.

I was feeling sluggish, my cravings were out of control and when I traveled, I had a hard time eating healthy meals and snacks.  My husband on the other hand wanted to save money.  He travels a lot and eating out is expensive.  He would spend $15 for a hamburger at the hotel restaurant or even $6 for fast food.

My sister introduced me to Isagenix a few months ago.  They have a whole range of products that address weight management and toxicity cleansing.  My favorite is the meal replacement shake.  I replace one meal a day with it.  I like the fact that it is easy to prepare and I don't have to decide what to have for my meal.  To give a little variety I add a few drops of flavoring such as peppermint or almond.  You could also add some fruit or a spoonful of your favorite jelly.

My husband has started the program and finds it very easy to travel using the meal replacement shakes and bars.  These shakes and bars are densely packed with nutrients and vitamins.  He especially likes the fact that it only costs about $3 for a meal.

I now have more energy and my cravings are almost nonexistent.  When I travel the products go with me, which helps me stick to a healthy way of eating.  Since he is not eating empty calories, my husband has lost almost 20 pounds in three months.

I am offering half price associate memberships for the first 5 people who sign up, ($15-$20 value).  You can contact me at  http://tracymaxwell.isagenix.com/us/en/landing_custom.html

Guest Post - Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

Today we are featuring another guest post on Healthy Living Natural Beauty.  Below you can read about weight loss hypnotherapy and the bio of our guest writer.  Please feel free to leave comments or questions for the authors of any of our guest post articles.

                                                   Weight Loss Hypnotherapy

Lily Allen is said to be a fan and there seems to be more and more Hypnotherapy for Weight Loss Clinics springing up all over the country. If you are a dieter who has tried every weight loss plan going, then it may seem like an attractive and easy option to take – but other people may be rather sceptical of this ‘quick fix solution’. Is weight loss hypnotherapy really as great as it sounds?

How It Works

Hypnotherapy – or hypnosis – is an alternative therapy which can be used to attempt to overcome a number of issues, for example giving up smoking or to conquer a fear or phobia.

A hypnotherapist is a person who carries out the procedure of hypnotherapy. He or she will talk with you about your eating patterns and habits and, with your help, will help you to understand your behavior and what you need to do to lose weight. He or she will then place you into a relaxed but alert state of mind, in which you are susceptible to listen to and accept suggestions. While you are under hypnosis the hypnotherapist will make suggestions to you regarding ways of changing your eating habits. This is known as subconscious reprogramming.

For example, he or she may say: “Cravings for snack foods are no longer of interest to you. Healthy fruit snacks are much more appealing to you”.

Is it for you?

The main positive point of hypnotherapy for weight loss is that it can help you to understand the underlying issues you may have with food. And once you know what the issues are, you can start to try and solve them. It could teach your mind to feel and think differently about eating e.g. to stop thinking of food as a reward, or a pleasure; or perhaps to eat only when you are hungry – and to stop when you are full.

And the negative? It is said by many that hypnotherapy only works if YOU believe it is going to work. So only go for it, if you believe in it, 100%.

Although medical professionals are not convinced that hypnosis for weight loss works, of course, if used in conjunction with a sensible eating plan and exercise, we think it is definitely worth a try!

3 Tips for a Lasting At-Home Manicure and Pedicure

Doing your own nails at home can save you a lot of money, but they just don’t seem to last as long. What are you doing differently from the nail salon? Well, here are three tips to help your manicure or pedicure last longer, even when you do it yourself.

1.      Base coat – If you want your nail polish to stay on and not stain your nails permanently, then you need to put on a clear base coat before you ever start painting. Not just regular clear polish here, but an actual clear coat created for protecting your nails and providing strong adherence. A quick dry version will help you to get to the actual color part faster.

2.      Top coat –Like a base coat, a top coat is clear and created just for that purpose. Adding a top coat as a final coat to your painted nails will help keep the paint from chipping and also add a great shine. Like a screen protector on your cell phone, a top coat is just a sensible precaution.

3.      Let it dry – One bad thing about doing your nails at home is the temptation to start moving around. When you have your nails done professionally, you stay very still and let the nails dry. They even have special lights to help the paint dry faster. However, you don’t have access to that at home. Don’t just assume when the nails are no longer tacky that they are dry. Wait a sufficient amount of time before using your freshly painted nails. Depending on how many layers you used, this can be up to a couple of hours.

There are other ways to make your nail polish last longer. One is as simple as choosing the right brand. Some brands are made for natural nails and some for artificial, so know what you need before you buy. Your nails can last weeks if properly maintained.

HLNB Summer Challenge - Day 22

June 22nd Day 22:
Exercise:
Yesterday I walked 3.5 miles and watered my garden.  I also did some house cleaning and got some exercise running around the house and up and down the stairs.  Wow, it's so hot out now that summer is here.  I love it!

Just for fun:
Did you catch Duran Duran on Good Morning America last Monday? Well don't worry, if you missed it, I'm attaching a video of them singing "Reach Up For the Sunrise"!  And there's a portion of their interview too. They were great, can't wait for the next tour and the DVD!

Note: You can turn off my blog music with the iPod player on the right hand side before watching the video.

Food:
I ate the fruit and yogurt parfait for breakfast (Breakfast Jewel Parfait from Julie Anne Rhodes website), a tuna sandwich and shrimp tacos.  I also drank 100% fruit juices with all three meals and drank some Peach Green Tea and 8 oz of green smoothies.  I've also added some Stevia leaves to my smoothies.  I've started growing the Stevia plants this summer.  I really like the sweet taste, I like that they are natural and I also like that they won't give us cavities!

Fashion Friday - Kate and Her Shoes

I've been hearing about Duchess Catherine's nude color shoes in the news lately and how she wears them everywhere.  I found several pictures of her wearing these shoes and I think they look great. She may be wearing them because they are a neutral color, they match with everything and they must be comfortable.  I can't imagine with all the walking around she has to do that she would keep wearing a pair of shoes that hurt her feet.  We even saw her wearing them at Queen Elizabeth's Jubilee.

I found out the shoes she wears are from LK Bennet. And it's hard to buy them because they are sold out almost as soon as they hit the shelves.  They are also a bit expensive for some of us living on a budget.  Here in the US we can order them online, but we'd have to pay a large shipping charge and some taxes.  I've heard they sell them at Nordstrom's (for $325 a pair) but you'd have to find them on the shelves to be able to buy them.  Oh well, we can still have fun looking at pictures of them and wondering how we will get hold of a pair someday!  I thought I'd post pictures of how Princess Catherine wears her LK Bennet nude patent shoes for Fashion Friday this week.  Hope you enjoy and Happy Fashion Friday!

I really like the nude shoe look.  I think they make your legs look longer and Kate's "go to" shoes are so cute.  It's a great new trend in shoes, and a girl can always use another great pair of shoes!  Hope you enjoyed a look at Kate's nude color shoes.

It's also Prince Williams' 30th birthday this week so Kate will likely be celebrating it with him and possibly wearing her cute nude shoes to his party.  Happy Birthday Prince William!
